Billy Bond
Billy Bond, Jr. is a singer/songwriter from Prescott. He moved to Arizona 23 years ago from Southern Colorado where he was a member of the popular trio, Hired Hands. The band played in the Taos and Santa Fe clubs and resorts for many years for the beautiful New Mexico dancers.
For some unknown reason, after moving to Prescott, he quit playing music for 18 years until three years ago. Then about three years ago, for some other unknown reason, he decided to dust off his guitars, get his voice back in shape and build the calluses back on his fingers.
He’s been hard at it ever since playing several nights a week around Northern Arizona in various ensembles. Billy combines his unique guitar style (as well as dobro, Weissenborn and lap steel,) with expressive vocals into a wide range of songs from Hank Williams to Prince. His catalog includes many original songs, but his specialty and passion is filling his shows with obscure Southwestern tunes that touch the heart and please the ear.
